Political Council: US Sanctions Extension of Systematic Plan Aimed at Destroying Yemeni Economy

News - Yemen: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Houthi, said that the USA prioritizes war against Yemen over all peace efforts while pretending to be for peace. He added in a tweet that imposing sanctions under the notion of advancing peace is an obstacle without any feasibility.

Al-Houthi stressed that the US is adding to its crimes against the Yemeni people by targeting the private sector. He explained that the US started destroying the Yemeni economy by moving the Central Bank to Aden, striking factories and looting state employees' salaries. He exposed the US's plan as "systematic to destroy the Yemeni economy."

Earlier, The US Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on a network that it said is financially helping Yemen's Ansarullah.

The transfer of the Central Bank’s functions to Aden and the transfer of the SWIFT, which enables international transactions, deprived one million employees of their salaries.

US Leads Economic War on Yemen

While it introduces itself as a party away from creating the human tragedy in Yemen, the US, with the decision of its treasury, confirms that Washington has the upper hand in complicating the arbitrary measures regarding the entry of foodstuffs, fuel and medicines to Yemen for 6 years.

It is worth noting that the aggression’s navy has practiced illegal piracy in the Red Sea against fuel and food vessels since the beginning of the aggression, despite the ships obtaining licenses from the UN in accordance with the established procedures. All this Saudi thuggery comes under the US cover, which is based on the slow entry of everything that enters Yemen.

In terms of repercussions, Yemen realizes that the economic war led by Washington is nothing but one of the tools of the war through which the US is trying to subjugate the Yemenis through a policy of maximum pressure, after its failure to subjugate the people through killing and destruction. Especially since it found that it is facing a stream of fighters rushing to the fronts whenever the aggression deepens the blood of Yemenis.

Linking Humanitarian Issue with Other Issues Is Not Acceptable

The leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik, criticized, during his last meeting with the UN envoy, the UN way of dealing with the humanitarian situation, stressing that it is not acceptable to link the humanitarian issue with other issues.

Sayyed Abdulmalik also referred to the weak role of the UN towards the unjust siege imposed by the US-Saudi aggression against food, medicine and fuel. He criticized the UN for using the humanitarian situation as a card to blackmail and pressure the Yemeni people.

He stressed that Yemeni people have the right to have access to fuel, medical supplies and food, whatever the circumstances, also stressed that siege is a collective punishment and a measure that violates international resolutions and humanitarian norms, and is contrary to all laws and regulations.

He stressed that the more this siege continues, Yemeni people will become convinced and fully confident that they won't accept this peace.
