Amid Economic Collapse, UAE-backed Militias Set Condition for Saudi-Backed Government Return

News - Yemen: The militias of the UAE-backed Transitional Council have set a new condition for the return of the Saudi-backed government to the occupied city of Aden.

The head of the transitional militia delegation negotiating with the Hadi government, Nasser Al-Khubaji, said that it is important to restructure the two ministries of Defense and Interior, stressing the need to combat financial and administrative corruption in the government.

In the US-Saudi occupied governorates, southern Yemen, the currency continued to collapse, despite the receipt of $660 million by the Bank of Aden from the International Monetary Fund.

The military members continued protests in front of the gate of the Central Bank of Aden for the second week in a row to demand the payment of their suspended salaries for 8 months.

The popular protests against the high prices and the collapse of the currency in a number of the occupied southern governorates also continued, amid complete governmental silence.

The government refused to back down from the decision to raise the exchange rate of the customs, despite the fact that traders in Aden stopped importing through the port of Aden and quarantined all their goods and left them in the port, refusing to deal with the unfair decision.

All the facts emphasized the failure of the international support provided by the International Monetary Fund as a result of the crisis of confidence of the banking sector in the Bank of Aden and its failure to rely on it to manage the exchange rate or influence it positively.
