Yemeni Employees Condemn US-Saudi Continued Maritime Piracy

News - Yemen: The employees and workers of the electricity and oil sectors in Sana'a organized a protest, in front of the United Nations office, on Monday, denouncing the continued US-Saudi aggression, its maritime piracy, and the detention of fuel ships.

In the protest, the participants stressed that targeting economic and service sectors, including the electricity sector, is inconsistent with international and humanitarian charters, norms, and laws, as it results in suffering for millions of Yemenis.

In a statement, the participants confirmed that the losses of the electricity sector by the US-Saudi targeting exceeded $84 million.
The statement holds US-Saudi aggression responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe that affected the electricity sector in the capital, Sana'a, and other governorates.

The statement issued by the union of the Yemeni Oil Company clarified that the continuation of piracy on oil derivatives ships by US-Saudi aggression aims to double the suffering of the Yemeni people and starve them.

The Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Daris, revealed, on Tuesday, that the oil sectors under the US-Saudi and mercenaries control produced oil worth 7 and a half billion dollars from 2018 to November 2021. In a press conference, under the title “Aggression and its impact on the oil, gas and mineral sector,” Dares explained that the oil companies’ production of crude oil in sectors which are not under the control of the Salvation Government for the years 2018 until November 2021 amounted to 108,275,000 barrels, more than 7 and half a billion dollars.

Last Week, Yemen Petroleum Company confirmed that the forces of US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries have looted four million and 400 thousand barrels of crude oil since mid-November.
