News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces revealed, on Wednesday, the details of the military operation "Fajr Alsahra'a", during which the Armed Forces liberated Al-Yatama area in the Khub Wal Sha'af district of Al-Jawf Governorate, with an area estimated at more than 1,200 square km.

Armed Forces spokesman,  Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e, stated that Yemeni military units began to carry out the attack on the enemy forces from several axes in Al-Jawf. "During the first hours, our forces succeeded in confusing the enemy. US-Saudi aggression tried to push more mercenaries to the front lines and US-Saudi warplanes launched more than 60 raids in an attempt to impede the progress of the Army, but failed to do so," the spokesman said.

Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e noted in his press briefing that the most prominent results of the operation were as follows:
•  Liberating an area amounted to 1,200 square km, which made most of Al-Jawf Governorate liberated, except for some desert areas.
•  Killing 35 Saudi-mercenaries, injuring 37 and capturing 45 others. 
•  Damaging, burning 15 armored vehicles, and seizing large quantities of medium and light weapons.
•  Air Defense Units shot down a US-made Scan Eagle drone.

Sare'e stated that Rocketry Force, Air Force and various units participated in liberating Al-Yatama. He pointed that tribes of Al-Jawf actively participated in the liberation of Al-Yatama and constantly present in the battle for freedom and independence.

Armed Forces spokesman pointed that people of Al-Jawf refuse to keep their areas under foreign occupation and affirm their firm position with the people and the country, stating that Saudi interventions prevented Al-Jawf People from digging water wells and benefiting from groundwater.

In the press conference, Armed Forces announced that it will reveal documents confirming Saudi Arabia’s intervention to prevent Yemenis not only from drilling oil wells, but even water wells.
Armed Forces spokesman stated that, during the past 2 weeks, US-Saudi air raids on the capital and some governorates exceeded 500 raids, confirming that US-Saudi escalation impose exceptional duties and tasks on our forces to respond to the crimes committed 
He stressed that Armed Forces emphasize options for an appropriate response to US-Saudi escalation.
