US-Saudi Aggression Deprives Yemeni People of Basic Telecommunications Services

News - Yemen: The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology condemned the targeting of the communications networks, stations and towers by the US-Saudi aggression, in Sa’adah, Amran and Al-Jawf.

The ministry said in a statement, Sunday, that targeting communications networks reveals the ugliness of the aggression and its malicious criminal goals against Yemeni people and their capabilities, and depriving them of all necessary services.

It added that the aggression's targeting of telecommunications services and facilities deprives tens of thousands of citizens of basic telecommunications services and doubles their suffering.

The ministry held the countries of the aggression, led by the US, responsible for targeting telecommunication facilities and the consequences thereof.

At the same time, it denounced the silence of the United Nations and the international community on the crimes of aggression and its persistence in killing civilians and destroying infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and its other regional allies, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015. The seven years and half of war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure. Yemeni people are facing malnutrition, hunger, and famine, which have increased risks of disease and starvation.

The Eye of Humanity Center monitored the infrastructure’s losses that were caused by the US-Saudi aggression during 2021. It said that the aggression targeted 147 mosques, 51 government facilities, the headquarters of a media outlet, and 3 sports facilities, bringing the total within 7 years to 1625 mosques, 51 media facilities, 2045 government facilities, and 139 sports facilities.

The aggression warplanes targeted 1,599 roads and bridges, 3 airports, 2 ports, 13 stations and generators, 469 tanks and a water network, and 15 networks and communication stations.
