8th Year of US-Saudi Aggression Against Yemen, Year of Surprises for Saudi Arabia

Yemen:  The US-Saudi aggression on Yemen has entered its eighth year in light of new surprises and the transfer of the war to the heart of Saudi Arabia, which reveals a change in the equations within a new scope of targets that includes the capitals of the aggression, and its most prominent vital facilities.

Yemen has been subjected and is still being subjected to the most heinous Saudi-Emirati aggression with US-Western support aimed at plundering Yemen's wealth and controlling its decisions. Seven years have passed, during which tens of thousands of Yemenis were killed and wounded, and vital facilities and infrastructure were destroyed. The coalition of aggression launched more than 274,000 raids on Yemen, which was only officially monitored.

In the face of this international inaction and silence, the Yemeni Armed Forces have developed their military capabilities. The spokesman for the joint Yemeni forces, Brigadier Yahya Sare’e, confirmed that during the battle to confront the aggression, Sana'a forces carried out more than 13,208 military operations, including 6,681 offensive operations and 6,527 operations to repel and thwart offensive attempts to attack. The most prominent offensive military operations carried out by the Army and Popular Committees are Operation Victory from Allah in its three phases, Operation Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, Operation  Al-Bass Al-Shadeed, Operation Rabe'e Al-Nasr, and extensive military operations in Al-Baidha, Al-Dhalea, Shabwa and Marib, in addition to many military operations.

Before the beginning of the eighth year of the aggression, and amid the intensification of the siege on the Yemeni people, who are threatened by the largest humanitarian disaster with the scarcity of oil, which leads to high prices and power cuts, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out the Siege-breaking Operation in its first and second phases, which targeted the Saudi depth and economic and vital facilities. The first phase of the operation included the bombing of a number of vital and sensitive Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh, Yanbu and other areas. The operation, in its second phase, targeted a number of vital and important targets in the regions of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan, Samtah and Dhahran al-Janoub.

These operations aim to liberate large lands that the aggression had penetrated into, and inflicted heavy casualties on it, in addition to destroying hundreds of armored vehicles and weapons stores, and seizing large quantities of weapons. The attacks also came with the aim of quickly and practically breaking the siege imposed by Saudi Arabia and speeding up a political solution.

Riyadh, in the background of these attacks, and in a malicious move aimed at evading its responsibility for the deterioration of the situation, announced its disclaimer of responsibility for any shortage of energy supplies to the global market. This evasion of responsibility for the lack of oil production for the international market, under the pretext of being exposed to attacks, is unjustified. It can lift the blockade imposed on Yemeni ports, and fulfill its obligations to supply the international market, especially the Western one, with oil in light of the current global crisis.

Moreover, this strike returned Saudi Arabia to its normal size and stripped from it the robe of a peace advocate, which calls for a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in Riyadh, whose original goal is to tighten the siege on Yemenis and gather the scattered mercenaries to carry out more aggressive attacks. In addition, Saudi Arabia portrays itself as a sponsor of peace, as bin Salman offered to mediate to intervene in the Ukrainian-Russian crisis. Saudi Arabia is seeking to take advantage of this rare opportunity to pressure the Joe Biden administration in order to push the latter to more decisive steps in Yemen. It uses the oil weapon, which it has so far refused to increase its production as the Americans desire.

The Yemeni strike comes to remind Saudi Arabia of its determinants and that it is the real party in the war on Yemen. It shows that the only solution lies in recognizing the facts and entering into serious and real negotiations on its basis, and that before seeking to mediate among the rest of the countries, they must first save themselves from the Yemeni quagmire.
