Violating UN-sposored Truce, 10 Civilians Wounded by US-Saudi Aggression's Bombing of Houses in Hodeidah

News - Yemen: Ten citizens were injured in a bombing by the forces of the US-Saudi aggression on civilian homes in Hodeidah Governorate, in a grave violation of the Stockholm agreement and the two-month UN-sponsored truce.

Almasirah Net correspondent in Hodeidah reported that 10 citizens, women and children, were injured and their property was damaged by the bombing of two houses in the Al-Fawaha area, located between the districts of Hays and Al-Jarrahi.

The forces of aggression continue their violations of the humanitarian and military truce, as well as the ceasefire agreement in Hodeidah under the Stockholm agreement, where the Liaison and Coordination Officers Operations Room reported 73 violations staged by US-Saudi forces and mercenaries on Saturday.

A source in the Operations Room pointed out that the violations included the launching of four air raids with spy drones on Hays, in addition to the flying of 11 spy drones in Hais and Magbanah and the developing of new military fortifications in Hais. They staged 13 attacks with artillery shells, and 44 attacks with live bullets.

On a daily basis, the Saudi-led aggression violates the UN-backed agreement, reached between the warring sides during a round of UN-sponsored peace negotiations in Sweden in December 2018.

The agreement committed the parties to an immediate ceasefire in the city of Hodeidah and the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa, redeployment of forces, securing the ports, the establishment of the joint Redeployment Coordination Committee chaired by the United Nations, and the use of the revenues of the ports to support civil service salary payments.

The continuous violations by the forces of aggression in Hodeidah come in light of an international silence identifying the aggression and its crimes against the Yemeni people.

The US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries also committed 134 violations of the humanitarian and military truce on Saturday, including 52 flights of spy drones on Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Al-Jawf, Sa'adah, Al-Baedah, Al-Dhale'e and border frontlines.

The US-Saudi mercenaries developed new military fortifications in Marib and committed 13 violations by artillery shelling on Army and Committee sites in Sa'adah, Hajjah, Jizan and Marib governorates.

They also committed 68 violations of shooting at the homes of citizens and the sites of the Army and Popular Committees in Marib, Taiz, Sa'adah, Al-Baidha'a, Al-Dhale'e, border fronts.

In early April, the UN special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced the nationwide ceasefire, for the first time since 2016, saying the two-month truce would be eligible for renewal with the consent of parties. The truce meant to halt all military operations in the country and to bring the foreign military invasion to an end.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the truce "must be a first step to ending Yemen’s devastating war," urging the warring parties to build on the opportunity to "resume an inclusive and comprehensive Yemeni political process."

The deal stipulates halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen’s lifeline al-Hudaydah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana’a "to predetermined destinations in the region."

The Saudi-led aggression continues to violate the truce by detaining new fuel ships, despite their inspection and obtaining permits from the United Nations, insisting on the closure of Sana’a Airport, as well as, the fires of the aggression side did not subside along the fronts, on the borders and inside, including shelling, reconnaissance, development and crawl.
