President Al-Mashat: US-Saudi Aggression's Handling of Truce is Shocking, Discouraging

News - Yemen: The head of Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, stressed that our confidence is absolute in the failure of all the enemies' plan, and "the battle is still long because the US-Saudi aggression is cooperating with evil against our country."

He explained that the US-Saudi aggression had formed a "Council of Shame" against the Yemeni will and in capitals that killed and besieged the Yemeni people, explaining that they were involved in betraying the country, and "there was no difference between their position and that of the traitor Hadi."

"It is enough shame for the international community that it hastened to support the tools of US-Saudi aggression that the people have rejected. They only represent the good of the foreign powers and fully corrupted" He said.

President Al-Mashat affirmed the Yemeni people's keenness on real and lasting peace, which is based on the demands of ending aggression, siege, occupation, reconstruction and addressing the impact and compensation of the aggressive war.

He indicated that what is happening in the occupied territories is an additional confirmation of the ugliness of the projects of dependency and also evidence of the greatness of the project of liberation and independence.

President Al-Mashat returns all the reasons for prolonging the war to erroneous perceptions of US-Saudi aggression, indicating the shocking treatment adopted by US-Saudi aggression with the obligations stipulated in the provisions of truce.

He explained that thousands of violations have been committed by US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries since the truce entered into effect, including more than 35 military advances, also they obstructed the conduct of flights to their specified destinations, obstructed the movement of ships.

"The citizen did not feel a difference between truce and non-truce, which is not encouraging enough, we are not against extending truce, but what is not possible is accepting any truce in which the suffering of Yemeni people continues," he said.

President Al-Mashat calls for real cooperation that leads to improving humanitarian, economic benefits in any upcoming truce, Pointing out that necessary to discuss more humanitarian, economic solutions as strict priority.

In early April, the UN special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced the nationwide ceasefire, for the first time since 2016, saying the two-month truce would be eligible for renewal with the consent of parties. The truce meant to halt all military operations in the country and to bring the foreign military invasion to an end.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the truce "must be a first step to ending Yemen’s devastating war," urging the warring parties to build on the opportunity to "resume an inclusive and comprehensive Yemeni political process."

The deal stipulates halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen’s lifeline al-Hudaydah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana’a "to predetermined destinations in the region."

The Saudi-led aggression continues to violate the truce by detaining new fuel ships, despite their inspection and obtaining permits from the United Nations, insisting on the closure of Sana’a Airport, as well as, the fires of the aggression side did not subside along the fronts, on the borders and inside. Shelling, reconnaissance, development and crawl, including a failed advance carried out by mercenaries towards Army and Popular Committee sites south of Marib.
