Center for Political Studies: Saudi-backed Delegation in Jordan Afraid of Exposing Terrorists in Occupied Areas

News - World: The head of the Center for Political Studies revealed the reasons for the refusal of the Saudi-backed delegation in the Jordan negotiations by pointing out the impact of opening roads on the existing of some terrorist groups.

"The US-Saudi aggression is trying to obstruct the Jordan dialogue, and any possible settlement, and refuses to open any crossings in Taiz because the opening of the roads in Taiz will expose the Brotherhood's military camps and the encouraging environment for producing terrorist individuals which it exports to the southern governorates."

Al-Islah militants are blocking many of the entrances to the city of Taiz towards the countryside of Taiz, while the forces of Tariq Afash (former president Salah's nephew) close the western roads towards Mocha and Al-Barah from the city.

Recently, The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs confirmed Thursday that the US-Saudi aggression is working to ignite chaos in Taiz. In his interview with Almasirah, the spokesman Talaat Al-Sharjabi explained that the aggression wants to divide the people of Taiz for its projects to strike the unity of Yemen.

He pointed out that the US-Saudi aggression brought mercenaries from various places to the city of Taiz with the aim of igniting a battle there.

Sharjabi stressed that there are more than 18 secret prisons in Taiz controlled by the US-Saudi aggression, and the prisoners there are subjected to the worst forms of torture.

Commenting on the recent talks in Jordan, he said, "we have concerns about the performance of the other party in Amman, as they have no authority and are not the decision makers."

In early April, the UN special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced the nationwide ceasefire, for the first time since 2016, saying the two-month truce would be eligible for renewal with the consent of parties. The truce meant to halt all military operations in the country and to bring the foreign military invasion to an end.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the truce "must be a first step to ending Yemen’s devastating war," urging the warring parties to build on the opportunity to "resume an inclusive and comprehensive Yemeni political process."

The deal stipulates halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen’s lifeline al-Hudaydah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana’a "to predetermined destinations in the region."

The Saudi-led aggression continues to violate the truce by detaining new fuel ships, despite their inspection and obtaining permits from the United Nations, insisting on the closure of Sana’a Airport, as well as, the fires of the aggression side did not subside along the fronts, on the borders and inside, including shelling, reconnaissance, development and crawl.
