Earlier on Friday, the Islamic Jihad confirmed that the Israeli enemy assassinated one of its commanders. Tayseer Jabari, a high-ranking commander was killed in airstrike in his home. Israeli media described him as the “successor of Islamic Jihad military chief Baha Abu al Ata”, who was martyred in an Israeli strike in 2019.

Occupation Home Front Command alerted Israeli settlers who live in towns within an 80 km radius of the Gaza Strip, including Tel Aviv, that there is a risk of rocket fire, Israeli media reported.

Shortly after the Al-Jaabari was pronounced martyred, the Islamic Jihad announced that the Israeli occupation military is launching a war, vowing to confront the new aggression.

Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ziad Nakhale ordered the resistance groups operatives to act in accordance with plans set to confront Israeli aggression, Palestinian media reported.

Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad, Ziyad al-Nakhalah said the Israeli enemy must expect a "non-stop" confrontation in the wake of the Friday aggression.

There will be no truce following this attack, the Islamic Jihad official said. All resistance groups must struggle under one flag in this fight, Nakhalah said.

Hamas, Islamic Jihad’s fellow Gaza-based resistance movement, also said the Israeli enemy "committed a new crime" and must "pay its price."

Last May, Gaza’s resistance groups fired around 4,000 rockets during Operation Sword of al-Quds after the Israeli regime initiated its last war against the coastal enclave.
