Al-Mashat: Situation With Saudi-led Aggression a Ticking Bomb, Washington Objects Truce Renew

News - Yemen: The head of Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Mahdi Al-Mashat, confirmed, Monday, that the American role in the truce ongoing negotiations is dangerous, and it does not want it to be renewed.

"The truce situation today is like a ticking bomb. We are not in a truce, nor at war," he said.

He pointed out that the state of no peace and no war is the result of the US-Saudi aggression recognition of failure and some pro-Saudi parties thinking of reconsidering ending the conflict.

"We are facing parties that benefit from the US-Saudi aggression, and it is now pushing to explode the situation, militarily and politically," he added.

He pointed out that the truce negotiations reached a level of good understanding, until the US envoy arrived in the region and thwarted these efforts, stressing that the US envoy is trying to appear in the media as someone wants peace, while his movements confirm the opposite.

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed surprise at the claim of the US of its keenness to achieve peace in Yemen, while it is the one behind the suffering of the Yemeni people.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that this claim comes in the context of its attempt to cover up its position obstructing peace.

The statement pointed out that America does not want to stop the aggression, and this is evident through its statements and criticism of those who defend itself, and through its permanent bias towards war and its measures such as aggression, siege and occupation of Yemeni lands.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the US is trying to burn the stages in order to impede any sincere efforts to achieve peace.

Recently, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced what was stated in the recent press statement of the Security Council on Yemen, and the attempt to manipulate dealing with the facts of events, adopting double standards and accusing Sanaa of posing a threat to the peace process in Yemen and to maritime security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement on Friday, “Although Sana'a has taken official steps and announced measures to clarify its position to the world earlier and has communicated with all countries, oil companies and that oil tanker, that it will not allow the wealth of the Yemeni people to be looted within the framework of its internationally recognized borders."

"By doing so, it has assumed its responsibility guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Yemen and international law in defending the sovereignty of the country and preserving the interests and wealth of the Yemeni people from any looting or abuses."

The Ministry called on the Security Council to understand the warning message implemented by the  Yemeni Armed Forces in its correct context without any interpretation, and that it was not an aggressive or offensive message in the middle of the sea or the international navigation path, but rather a warning message inside Yemeni territorial waters and directed to deter those who wanted themselves to continue in looting and stealing Yemen's oil and natural resources.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that this message did not result in any human casualties or material losses in the facilities due to its warning nature at this stage, while leaving options open for a wider range of strict measures against those who think of trying to repeat the looting of natural resources from all Yemeni lands and ports. It indicated that Sana'a is still serious about moving towards a just and honorable peace, and that it supports the efforts undertaken by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen.

The statement added, "The efforts of the UN envoy must be accompanied by serious steps to end the aggression and lift the comprehensive siege, by implementing urgent humanitarian steps that address the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe, the most important of which is not to impede the entry of ships loaded with oil derivatives and domestic gas to the port of Hodeidah." "And not to put obstacles in front of commercial airlines to arrive and depart from and to Sana'a International Airport without setting any preconditions."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call to the Security Council to investigate the facts of matters and not be tempted to use it as a council for the interests of specific and influential countries, and for it to be a Security Council for all countries of the world to carry out its responsibilities in accordance with the purposes of the United Nations Charter.
