Human Rights Ministry Condemns US-Saudi Mercenaries Burning Displaced Camp in Khawkhah

News - Yemen: Ministry of Human Rights condemned the US-Saudi mercenaries for setting fire to the Al-Jisha camp for the displaced in Al-Khawkhah district, Hodeidah Governorate.

“This cowardly terrorist act comes within the series of systematic and organized crimes, violations and massacres committed by the US-Saudi aggression and its tools against the Yemeni people, whether in free or occupied areas,” the ministry said in a statement.

It called on the international organizations operating in Al-Khokha to carry out their humanitarian duties in the face of this crime. It also held the United Nations bodies fully responsible for the violations that the displaced are exposed to.

The ministry called on representatives of international organizations in Yemen, especially the offices of the United Nations, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, to go to the crime scene in order to investigate all crimes occurring in the areas of the occupation authorities and its tools, and to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to criminal accountability.

It also called on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to protect the displaced and compensate those affected by the fire in Al-Jisha camp.

Areas under the Saudi-UAE control are witnessing security chaos, and almost daily crimes. They witness increasing of assassinations involving military security leaders, religious and social tendencies, kidnapping, bombings and clashes between militants fighting for influence among them.

In addition, thousands of displaced families under the control of aggression face great dangers and violations of their rights by the forces of aggression.

The United Nations has confirmed that the security chaos in the southern governorates has become a source of concern for humanitarian workers. Deputy Director of Operations, Ghada Mudawi, assured the Security Council that the lack of security is a source of concern for workers, who are increasingly trying to steal cars, kidnappings and other attacks.
