Yemeni Navy Has Full Ability to Protect Intl. Sea Lanes, Trade Routes

News - Yemen: Yemen is the one that has the right to protection and sovereignty over the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Commander of the Coastal Defense Forces affiliated to the Sana'a Forces Major General Mohammad Al-Qadri confirmed.

He pointed out that the Yemeni navy has the full ability to protect international sea lanes and trade routes, and to pull the rug out from under the forces of the US-Saudi aggression.

“The forces of aggression claim the security of the international sea lanes, and these excuses are flimsy and have become exposed to control Yemen's geographical location,” the Commander of the Coastal Defense Forces said. “This will not happen, as the capabilities of the Yemeni naval forces have grown day after day.”

He added that the Yemeni naval forces today possess what qualifies them to have the final say in Yemeni territorial waters.

"The increase in the military naval power in Yemen confirms that Yemeni waters are protected by naval men, and that the time for orgies at sea is over," Al-Qadri added.

He stressed that “the issue of controlling the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, along with the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, has become among the main motives for the aggression against Yemen, and this will never be as long as there are military capabilities that guarantee cutting off the hands of the aggressors.”

He pointed out that the Yemeni naval forces have reached a stage of high military development, and have an extraordinary naval deterrence force.

“The previous equation that achieved naval supremacy for the countries involved in aggression has been broken.”

Major General Al-Qadri concluded his statement by stressing that the enemies are fully aware of the great capabilities that Yemen has reached in the matter of naval power, and the extent of its impact on any military action they may take.

The US has recently strengthened its military presence, from the Gulf region to the Arabian Sea, all the way to the Red Sea under the pretext “enhancing maritime security in the region”.

The previous decades were filled with many attempts in raising fears among the countries bordering the Red Sea, and Arab countries took the lead in these efforts. Instead of searching for the security of maritime navigation, the choice of the countries involved in aggression on Yemen was to consolidate the relationship with the US and Israel under the pretext of uniting efforts to secure the shipping lanes.

Because of the importance of this shipping lane for the whole world economically, security and militarily, the regional powers did not hesitate in 2008 to move in the Security Council to issue resolutions concerning the Red Sea under the pretext of piracy that appeared and disappeared according to purely US ambitions in that region of the world.

A step that forcibly extracted sovereignty from the riparian countries, so the internationalization of the security of the Red Sea was the way for the US to be present in one of the most important shipping lanes. And wherever the US is present, the Zionists are present.

Despite the passage of eight years of US-Saudi aggression and the siege imposed on Yemen, and the adoption of a mechanism by the US, Saudi and Emirati naval vessels to piracy on ships coming to the port of Hodeidah, Sana’a remained the largest guarantor of maritime navigation in Bab al-Mandab, which is today the third most important waterway after Hormuz and Malaga.

The US endeavor to be present in this waterway, the Zionists secretly and publicly raised fears from time to time. Thus, their seeking was frantic to be in the Yemeni islands, which is evident in the presence of the Emirati tool on Mayon Island and the US presence in Hadramawt. The Zionist fears of the Yemeni presence in the Red Sea increases.

Sana'a is the first guarantor of security in the Red Sea and all Yemeni waters, based on the supreme interest of the Yemeni people, and security is an integral part. The equation, in its simplicity, says that compromising the security of navigation in the Red Sea, and Yemen's wealth in the sea or on land, is a red line.
