News - Yemen: Finance Minister, Rashid Abu Lahoum, stated that the economic war against Yemeni people is being run directly by the Americans and the British, while the Saudis and Emiratis are nothing but tools.

Abu Lahoum emphasized, in TV interview, on Almasirah Channel, that transporting goods from the occupied ports over long distances doubles their cost and burdens the citizens with exorbitant prices. He said that "the forces of aggression tried to force the entry of oil derivatives through the occupied ports, but our leadership insisted on entering them through the port of Hodeidah."

Abu Lahoum indicated that the goods that enter through the occupied ports travel more than 1,200 km until they reach some areas, and if they entered through the port of Hodeidah, the distance would not be more than 200 km. He explained that some medicines as a result of the aggression are transported from Jordan to Yemen by land, which exposes them to damage.

Abu Lahoum indicated that the last correspondence we addressed to the International Monetary Fund regarding allowing mercenaries to withdraw Yemen's share was a month ago, and we alerted them to the seriousness of the matter since 2019. He said that, "our communications to the International Monetary Fund are legal documents, stating that what he did is not based on any legitimacy and his dealings have become purely political," considering the size of the external debt of our country has doubled due to non-payment of installments and interest as a result of the policy of aggression and its blockade.

He pointed out that the International Monetary Fund will bear the 300 million dollars that the mercenaries withdrew, as it gave it to a party that does not represent the Yemeni people.

He also stressed that the policy of dumping people with usurious loans is a Jewish colonial policy that has repercussions for generations, and we reject it all.

He concluded, "the US-Saudi forces and mercenaries, that transferred the Central Bank, must bear responsibility for this decision and its consequences, including bearing the benefits of internal and external debt."
