Parliament Denounces Standards of Security Council, UN Biased on US Policy Towards Yemen

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Parliament denounced the standards of the Security Council and the United Nations that are biased towards American policy that try to cover up the systematic looting of capabilities and wealth and depriving the Yemeni people of benefiting from them in paying the salaries of state employees and improving services. In addition to preventing the lifting of guardianship and arrogance and intransigence practiced by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and its mercenaries.

In the session held on Wednesday, the Parliament reaffirmed the right of the Yemeni people to benefit from their oil and gas wealth and stop tampering with them.

The Parliament welcomed the visit of any delegations from the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Union of Parliaments of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and those from the world’s parliaments who wish to visit Yemen to know the reality of the situation in Yemen and the extent of the destruction left by the aggression.

The members of the Parliament pointed out that the US envoy for Yemen objects to the demands of the Yemeni people to pay the salaries of state employees and harness the revenues of Yemen's wealth of oil and gas for the benefit of development, and considers these demands an obstruction to the truce.

"What are the legitimate demands from the point of view of the US administration? Is it the destruction of all the foundations of the Yemeni people, including the demolition of homes over the heads of their inhabitants, the targeting of funeral and wedding halls, roads, bridges, public and private facilities, markets, mosques, and even water wells, or preventing the entry of ships loaded with foodstuffs, medicines and fuel at a time when they claim that Iranian missiles are entering?" the members of the Parliament wondered.

They also stressed the need to listen to the demands of Yemenis, respect their will to reject guardianship over them as an independent state, and their right to protect their ports and stop the looting of their oil and gas resources.

The Parliament called on all free people in the world to support peace and extricate Yemen from a state of no peace nor war in order to avoid the catastrophe resulting from the repercussions of aggression and the blockade.

The members called on the free people in the parliaments of the world to support the will of the people and put pressure on the Security Council and the United Nations and their affiliated organizations and bodies to assume the human and moral responsibility to stop the looting of the wealth of the Yemeni people.

There is no serious UN efforts to alleviate the suffering of millions of Yemenis, and to fulfill their legitimate demands, including a complete cessation of aggression, lifting the siege, and disbursing salaries from the country's wealth revenues.

The UN engagement with the reality of Yemen confirms its desire to keep the blockade imposed as a pressure card that the aggression uses as it pleases. This fact is supported by the aggression's continued detention of oil ships, despite their subjection to the required UN inspection.

Not far from the blockade issue, the UN position proves a failure in resolving the salary crisis. Also the UN failure reveals the international community's desire to enable mercenaries from the country's wealth. That is in order to loot the proceeds of these wealth and deposit them in the banks of the countries involved in aggression, or benefit from them to finance the war that has been going on for eight years. This is confirmed by the repeated UN statements. It did not miss an opportunity to attack the warning operations of the Armed Forces, which prove the formula of preventing the looting of national wealth.
