Deputy Prime Minister for Defense: If Economic Blockade, State of No War nor Peace Continue, We Have Other Options

News - Yemen: Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs, Lieutenant-General Jalal Al-Rowaishan, confirmed that the US-Saudi forces' continuation of the economic blockade and the state of no war nor peace will not last long, and Sana'a has more than one option.

In a statement to Almasirah, Al-Ruwaishan said that Sana'a's position is clear and does not need secret negotiations or concealing what has been announced. "We are with a just peace that preserves freedom and independence," he said.

"We hope that the aggressive countries will be aware of the messages that the Omani delegation carried. We have military options and Yemen's Armed Forces are fully ready. The aggression has seen this readiness in more than one situation", he added.

He explained that Sana'a has humanitarian requirements, which are related to stopping the war, lifting the siege, the exit of foreigners from Yemen, and lifting the suffering of the Yemeni People.

For his part, Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Hamid Al-Mazjjaji, said that the aggression coalition is still elusive, and it wants to get out of this impasse, but it wants it in its unfair way to our people, which we will not be satisfied with.

"Our demands are clear and right for them to return our money from the proceeds of our wealth in favor of paying salaries, and we do not want them to give us alms", he said.

He considered the issue of salaries being spent from Hodeidah port illogical because the revenues of the port of Hodeidah are a small part of the revenues and do not exceed 7% of the revenues that were spent on salaries from Yemeni gas and oil.
He explained that 90% of the revenues are with the US-Saudi aggression coalition and are supplied to the National Bank in Jeddah.

He stated that moving the Central Bank to Aden was a wrong decision with catastrophic consequences, and despite that, they did not commit to paying salaries to all employees.

He indicated that in the recent talks, the party insisted on paying salaries from oil and gas revenues, opening airports and ports, lifting the siege, and removing the foreign occupier from all of our land.

In addition, Deputy Minister of Information Fahmy Al-Yousifi said that the aggression did not fully bear responsibility for their previous promises, and among the terms of the armistice is obligating them to return money for the salaries of all state employees.

He explained that the countries involved in aggression' evasion of implementing the armistice obligations is part of the deceptive tricks and evidence that they do not bear responsibility for those promises.

A UN-brokered truce lasted for six months in the seven-year-old war waged by Saudi Arabia and its regional allies supported by US and western countries against Yemen.

The truce, however, expired amid the Saudi-led coalition’s constant violations of the agreement and its refusal to properly lift a siege that it has been enforcing against Yemen since the beginning of the war.

Although the US-Saudi aggression seeks to extend the truce, it with UN complicity, is still evading the implementation of humanitarian and legal entitlements, foremost of which is the paying employee salaries and entering fuel ships to the port of Hodeidah, which made Sana’a refuse to extend the temporary truce.

The head of the National Delegation Mohammed Abdulsalam censured the aggressor coalition for failing to renew the truce deal and deteriorating the humanitarian crisis in the country as a result of its intransigence and disavowal of measures that alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
