News - Middle East: Large group of students from the British University of Lancaster organized a protest demonstration, calling for cutting the university's relationship with arms companies that violate human rights, especially in Palestine and Yemen.

The “Live Foot Forward” website stated, in a report, that the demonstration organized by the students, Sunday, called for the cut of Lancaster University’s relationship with the “Israeli-British BA System” company, which supplies Saudi Arabia and Israel with regimes and weapons.

"BA Systems is one of the largest arms manufacturers in the world, as Lancaster University and the University of Cumbria announced earlier that they will work closely with the large arms company to develop the university campus," it said.

"The university knows how immoral the arms trade, and that it is should withdraw their investments from arms companies, and continuing cooperation is completely hypocritical," one of the protesting students said.

"We feel we have no choice but to take this direct action, given the extent of the university's complicity in war crimes," another student said.

"We believe that universities should help build a more peaceful world, and should refuse to work with companies that profit from causing death and harm to people in the world," Dr Emily Heath said.
