News - World: The Russian communications watchdog, Roscomnadzor, has restricted users’ access to the websites of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for spreading false information.

Roscomnadzor’s service, which provides data on any restrictions of access to websites and web pages, reported on Friday that access from Russia had been limited to the websites at www.cia.gov and www.fbi.gov., and some websites for spreading inaccurate information, according to Tass news agency.

“Roscomnadzor has restricted access to some resources that are owned by government organizations of hostile countries for dissemination of materials that are aimed at the destabilization of the social and political situation in Russia,” the agency said in a statement.

Russia has been engaged in a special military operation in Ukraine since February last year, with Western countries taking the opposite side and giving Kiev all-out financial, military, and intelligence support.

In the meantime, the US government has been designated by many as the world’s “greatest propagator of disinformation.”
