News – Yemen: The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mohammad Sharaf Al-Mutahhar, affirmed that measures were taken to prevent the import of Swedish goods as a response to its official adoption of insulting the Holy Quran and Islam.

"We will, along with the rest of the concerned ministries, adopt the societal project to boycott the goods of countries that offend Islam and Muslims," he said. "We have initiated legal measures since this afternoon to prevent the import of Swedish goods and products to Yemen."

Earlier on Friday, the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, called for boycotting the goods and products of countries that officially adopt the hostile behavior that offends the Holy Quran, Islam and Muslims.

According to reports, Swedish right-wing leader Rasmus Paludan received permission from his country's government to burn the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm. He was protected by the police while committing the act.

Sweden's foreign minister Tobias Billström condemned hatred towards Muslims, but emphasized there were certain freedoms in his country. 

"Islamophobic provocations are appalling," he tweeted. "Sweden has a far-reaching freedom of expression, but it does not imply that the Swedish Government, or myself, supports the opinions expressed."
