Saudi Regime Launches Airstrikes in Northern Yemen, Provokes Sana'a

News - Yemen: The Saudi army escalated its attacks of violating Yemeni sovereignty, by carrying out more air strikes on the border governorate of Sa’adah in northern Yemen.

Within about ten days, the Saudi army launched drone attacks on populated Yemeni villages on the Yemeni-Saudi border.

The last of the Saudi bombing operations on the villages of Sa’adah, using drones, came, Tuesday, when the Saudi warplanes carried out two attacks in Razih district.

It seems that Riyadh deals with the border areas in Yemen, as if they are outside any agreements for truce in the country, as the Saudi army continued to bomb the border areas in Sa'adah, during the truce period from April 2 to October last year.

According to human rights activists, hardly a day passes without casualties among Yemeni civilians as a result of the continuous Saudi bombing of the border areas, which is usually carried out using artillery and missiles, and leads to deaths and injuries among civilians in Sa'adah Governorate, most of whom are women and children.

During the past Tuesday, a civilian was killed and five others were wounded by Saudi artillery shelling on the “Al-Raqo” area in the border district of Munabbih, knowing that the number of civilian casualties increases from hour to hour due to the continued Saudi bombing.

During the past 20 days, 46 civilians were killed or wounded as a result of the continuous Saudi bombing of the border villages of Sa'adah, as monitored by human rights activists.

Despite Sanaa's continuous calls for impartial international commissions of inquiry to look into the crimes and violations of the aggression and the Saudi forces, the UN Security Council and international organizations show no concern for the victims of war crimes committed by the aggression against civilians in Yemen.

It is worth noting that Sana'a and Riyadh have been engaged in talks for nearly two months under the auspices of the Sultanate of Oman, but the talks of the two parties have become threatened due to the American interference in the course of the talks, obstructing the peace efforts to end the Saudi-led aggression .
