News - Middle East: A majority of Americans believe multiple criminal investigations into former President Donald Trump's conduct are fair, despite his efforts to describe them as "conspiracies."

A survey conducted by the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist said 56% of respondents think the investigations into Trump’s conduct are fair. Forty-one percent, however, consider the probes to be a “witch hunt.”

The results come as Trump has raised the specter of his potential arrest, due to a hush money investigation out of New York.

He is also engulfed in at least three other criminal investigations, including election interference, his handling of classified documents, and his involvement in the January 6 riots at the US Capitol.

Three-quarters of respondents say Trump has either done something illegal (46%) or unethical (29%). Only a quarter (23%) think he's done nothing wrong.
