Sana'a Calls on UN to Force US-Saudi Aggression Left Siege on Sana'a Int. Airport

News – Yemen: The Undersecretary of Civil Aviation, Raed Jabal, called on the United Nations to take a strong position against the US-Saudi aggression to allow full operation of Sana'a Int. Airport to all destinations as it is the only save outlet for the country.

He pointed out that the death of Maryam Hammoud Hadi, at Sana'a Int. Airport, who was on her way for medical treatment in Jordan, is caused by the delays and difficulties put by the US-Saudi aggression.

He pointed out that since the coalition began its war and siege on Yemen, Sana'a airport was one of the ports that it was keen to block in front of the Yemeni people, and it still imposes restrictions on Yemeni airspace and airports.

He added that the coalition also prevents Yemeni airlines from operating from Sana'a airport, despite the readiness of the airport, and the desire of a number of companies to operate from Sana'a airport.

Al Jabal explained that three or six flights per week from Sana'a Airport do not serve the minimum needs of the Yemeni people, indicating that any measures or restrictions on the airport by the aggression are inconsistent with international laws that guarantee the rights of travel and movement for all citizens.

He demanded the opening of Sana'a International Airport to all domestic and international airlines, and to all destinations, as well as the neutralization of Yemeni airlines.

He expressed his regret at what Yemeni Airlines are doing in terms of reducing flights to and from Sana'a airport without any justification, pointing out that the aggression is implementing its unjust and deadly agenda against the Yemeni People through its mercenaries in an open manner.

Recently, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, affirmed that the aggression coalition has abandoned its humanitarian obligations in opening Sana'a International Airport to provide its services to the people of Yemen.

He pointed out that the aggression coalition continues to impose a siege on Sana'a airport, and refuses to allow it to operate in a manner that meets the actual need.

He also considered that the coalition of aggression, USA, Britain and France, renewed the closure of Yemeni airspace, indicating its intention to continue imposing the siege on the people of Yemen.

Jabal pointed out that the aggression coalition deliberately closed Sana'a International Airport to deprive the people of Yemen of their legitimate right to travel, which was guaranteed by international laws and agreements in light of the silence of the United Nations.

He called on international organizations and relevant authorities in the field of air transport to take a serious and effective stance to compel the aggression coalition to open the airports of the Republic of Yemen.
