News - Yemen: The Revolutionary Media Center condemned the closure of the Center's YouTube channel by YouTube, in conjunction with the closure of other national channels.

The center confirmed, in a press release on Monday evening, that its YouTube channel was subjected to a sudden closure by the YouTube company, in a move it described as arbitrary. It came without any violation of the terms and standards of publication.

The Revolutionary Media Center considered what happened as a practical participation by YouTube in the media blockade and the media war being waged against the Yemeni People. “It aims to obscure the national voice against the US, British, Saudi, and Emirati aggression and its allies against Yemen.”

“The move causes the international media to lose important Yemeni sources that used to communicate the truth to the world,” the center added. "The closure of national channels reveals YouTube's subordination to the countries involved in aggression, strips it of the mask of defending rights and freedoms, and contributes to the absence of Yemeni grievances from world public opinion."

The Revolutionary Media Center confirmed that "YouTube has exacerbated the media blockade imposed on the Yemeni people, forgetting the human right to obtain information, not blocking it."

It pointed out that "YouTube's failure to observe the gradient in the procedures for applying its conditions in publishing, and its direct launch to close national channels without prior notice or warning, is an affirmation of its affiliation with the countries involved in aggression."

The Revolutionary Media Center called on YouTube to retract this arbitrary step and quickly correct the mistake, stressing that the center will continue to work to convey the voice of the Yemeni People to the world, one way or another.

The Yemeni Military Media had also announced, on Monday evening, that the YouTube company had closed 18 of its channels, as well as the channels of the Ansarullah band, the Artistic Production Unit and the Documentary Production Unit on YouTube.

In June, 2021, the US seized and blocked Al Masirah Net English-language and Arabic-language websites, as well as dozens of website domains connected to pro-resistance media outlets.

Al Masirah Net was back online within hours establishing a new website, using its name but swapping the .net domain for .com.
