Education Ministry Condemns Presence of US Soldiers in Schools in Hadramaut

News - Yemen: The Ministry of Education condemned the presence of American soldiers in several schools in Hadramawt province last Tuesday, coinciding with the visit of the US ambassador to the province.

The Ministry of Education emphasized in a statement the danger of American presence in the southern provinces, which reflects the reality of colonization and its intentions to violate sanctities and terrorize children. This was evident and what was hidden was even greater.

The statement expressed dissatisfaction with the miserable state that the tools of the US-Saudi aggression have reached in the occupied provinces, including allowing US soldiers to invade educational institutions armed with weapons that caused fear among students.

"The presence of US soldiers in these educational institutions reflects the state of humiliation that the tools of aggression, mercenaries, and agents have reached, and their inability to protect the children of the Yemeni People, even students in their schools," the statement said.

The Ministry of Education called on the free and honorable people of the occupied provinces, especially the people of Hadramawt, to confront the aggression, its mercenaries, and resistance in every possible way.

The United States continues its escalatory steps in the region, which reinforce efforts to obstruct peace in Yemen. In early August, it announced the arrival of additional forces to the Red Sea, which represents a direct threat to the territorial waters, islands and Yemeni governorates, especially in light of the declared American insistence on continuing the aggression and blockade.

The US Fifth Fleet said in a statement that "more than 3,000 Marines and sailors arrived in the Middle East," noting that "amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 50) and dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) entered the Red Sea."

US Marine forces deployed on Tuesday in the city of Al-Ghurfa, near the city of Sayun, the center of the Wadi and Hadhramaut Desert districts in eastern Yemen.

Informed sources revealed that the administration and students of Al-Ghurfa High School, 9 km from Sayun, were surprised by the invasion of the school by US Marines, accompanied by an unnamed US official, at 11:00 am, along with Saudi officers without prior notice.

The sources confirmed that the US official, accompanied by an Arabic translator, visited Al-Ghurfa Girls' Secondary School after visiting the nearby Boys' Secondary School to meet with the school administrations without coordination with the pro-aggression local authorities, who were unaware of the armed American visit.

They explained that the visit was limited to some advanced classes for male and female students in the scientific section, amidst heavy deployment of US soldiers and military vehicles next to the two schools and in the neighboring residential areas, causing fear among students and parents alike.

On Wednesday, President Al-Mashat warned the US Marines and British forces in the occupied provinces not to go too far as "Yemen is a red line."

He addressed these forces saying, "Yemen possesses drones and rocket power, and it has a leader with a light hand on the trigger."

"We rely on Allah at the forefront, on the awareness of this people, and the courage and wisdom of our leadership. These are the elements that will lead our country out of this crisis to safety," he added. He pointed out that the people and loyal tribes are the safety valve against all enemy conspiracies.
