News - Middle East: Yemen's Parliament held a joint meeting on Monday led by Yahya Ali Al-Rai, which included the heads and rapporteurs of the Parliament's standing committees.

The Parliament reiterated its strong condemnation of the Zionist-US aggression against Gaza and the prolonged genocidal conflict against the Palestinian people, which has been ongoing for nearly a month.

It emphasized that the support from Western countries, particularly the United States, has emboldened the Zionist entity to commit more severe atrocities, openly challenging the international community.

In a statement, the meeting regarded the governments and regimes of these countries as complicit in the massacres and crimes committed by the Zionist entity, which amount to war crimes and acts of genocide.

The meeting decried the disturbing silence of the international community in the face of such heinous crimes happening in the 21st century.

It also criticized the complicity of certain Arab and Islamic regimes, as well as the disappointing positions of parliaments that fail to represent the interests of the Arab and Islamic peoples.

The meeting condemned the lack of response to the humanitarian appeals made during popular marches held in numerous capitals and cities worldwide, denouncing the Zionist-US aggression in Gaza and demanding an end to the ongoing massacres.

The Parliament called on all parliaments, nations, and individuals around the world to move beyond mere condemnation and denunciation and take meaningful actions in support of the Palestinian people, their just cause, and the sanctities of the nation.

It urged countries engaged in normalization with Israel to halt all forms of normalization, expel the ambassadors of the Zionist entity and the nations supporting it, and implement economic and political boycotts against countries that back Zionist terrorism.

The meeting criticized the absence of parliamentary action and the disregard for the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip, including the loss of essential services like electricity, water, fuel, communications, and internet access, which are all essential for life. This neglect comes as the region prepares for the use of internationally banned US weapons and bombs.

The Parliament called on the media to fulfill its role in raising awareness about the Israeli enemy's intentions to target countries and peoples in the region that support the Palestinian cause.

Israel has been waging a ferocious war against Gaza since October 7, when Hamas and its fellow Gaza-based resistance movement of the Islamic Jihad launched their biggest operation against Israel in years. The surprise Palestinian offensive, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, came in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.
