Almasirah Network Offers Condolences on the Martyrdom of Al-Mayadeen's Correspondent and Cameraman

News - Yemen: Almasirah Network expresses deep condolences for the loss of Farah Omar, correspondent for Al-Mayadeen channel, and Rabie Al-Maamari, cameraman, who were martyred in an Israeli bombardment near the Lebanese border with occupied Palestine earlier Tuesday.

In an official statement, Almasirah Network stated, "With great sorrow and sadness, we received the news of the martyrdom of the correspondent and cameraman of Al-Mayadeen channel during a cowardly Israeli attack while they were covering the events near the Lebanese border with occupied Palestine."

The statement further emphasized, "As we extend our condolences to the management and staff of Al-Mayadeen channel, we, at Almasirah Network, underscore the significance of maintaining a steadfast stance in covering the battle for Al-Aqsa from all fronts and exposing the brutality and cowardice of the criminal Israeli enemy."

The statement continued, "We reiterate our condolences to all Palestinian media outlets and journalists who have sacrificed their lives while covering this historic battle in our region and for our nation."

Almasirah Network affirmed that "our independent and honorable media will not waver in the face of Zionist-American aggression against the oppressed Palestinian people. We call upon everyone to tirelessly strive to convey their historic injustice and legendary resilience."

On Tuesday, Al-Mayadeen's correspondent, Farah Omar, and cameraman Rabie Al-Maamari were martyred in a deliberate Israeli airstrike targeting them immediately after concluding their live broadcast.

Farah Omar and Rabie Al-Maamari were targeted by an Israeli warplane that fired two rockets at their location in Tayr Harfa, South Lebanon.

The attack took place just as Farah and Rabie had finished their live coverage at 10 a.m., providing updates on the latest Israeli bombardment in South Lebanon. They were deliberately targeted shortly after going off air.

Israel has shown no hesitation in targeting journalists, and this has occurred on multiple occasions in the past month, both in Gaza and South Lebanon.

Since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, as Israeli shelling intensified in South Lebanon, Israel has carried out airstrikes on journalists reporting on the events in the region, resulting in the killing of Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah and the injury of two other Reuters journalists and an Al-Jazeera crew.

On November 13, Israel once again launched an attack on media crews, including those from Al-Mayadeen, in the Lebanese town of Yaroun near the border. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that incident.
