News - Middle East: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have strongly condemned the recent aggressive act by US forces, targeting a PMF-affiliated official security headquarters using a drone on Thursday.

In a statement, the PMF emphasized that this action constitutes a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, directly challenging the authority of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and disregarding established international laws and norms.

This deliberate and perilous escalation signifies a blatant disregard for Iraqi laws and lives, highlighting a clear disrespect for the Iraqi people and their well-being.

The PMF have reiterated its readiness to execute any directive issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, aiming to safeguard Iraq's sovereignty, maintain its territorial integrity, and ensure the safety of its citizens.

The PMF's statement follows a series of attacks by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeting US occupation bases in Iraq and Syria. These actions are in solidarity with the people of Gaza, who are confronting a genocidal conflict sponsored by the US.

An Iraqi security source reported an aerial bombardment by a drone targeting the logistical support headquarters of the PMF's 12th Brigade "Al-Nujaba" near the Iraqi Police College in eastern Baghdad.

Subsequently, a security source and a medical source reported an increase in casualties resulting from the aerial bombardment, with three killed and six wounded.

Additionally, Al-Nujaba Movement announced on Thursday the death of the Assistant Commander of Baghdad Belt Operations at the PMF, Mushtaq Talib Al-Saadi (Abu Taqwa), due to the "cowardly American attack on the logistical support headquarters in Baghdad."

A military spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces blamed the US-led Global Coalition for the strike, describing the attack as a "terrorist action."

Reuters reported that a US official stated that their country conducted an airstrike in Baghdad against "a militia leader responsible for attacks on American forces."
