News - World: Sudan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Al-Harith Idris, has accused the United Arab Emirates of sponsoring and financing the conflict in Sudan by supporting the Rapid Support militia.

He further elaborated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) brought in artillery, heavy weapons, and drones with the assistance of the UAE and Chad. He highlighted the recruitment of children and the hiring of mercenaries from Mauritania, Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso to participate in the conflict in Sudan.

According to Idris, the Sudanese army has been committed to implementing international humanitarian conventions in its defense of the country since the initiation of the war funded by countries in the Darfur region.

Idris confirmed that the RSF released 15,000 prisoners, including individuals wanted by the International Criminal Court.

The Sudanese Representative stated that the RSF was responsible for the killing of between 10,000 to 15,000 people from the Massalit tribe, according to a United Nations report, but the report did not name them as perpetrators.

Approximately a month ago, Sudan requested the departure of 15 individuals from the UAE diplomats in the country, following the recall of the acting charge d'affaires of the Abu Dhabi embassy.
