News - Yemen: Member Political Bureau of Ansarullah, Mohammed Al-Farh, affirmed that the classification of Ansarullah as terrorism is a pretext to silence voices, curb freedom of expression, and strip free individuals of their rights to expose American deception and falsification.

He considered the closure of some Yemeni websites and pages a violation of freedom of expression and evidence of the falsehood of American claims and Western civilization, which purport to defend human rights in expression and freedom of speech and writing.

He stated, "They are the ones who allowed the burning of the Quran and insulting the Prophet under the pretext of freedom of expression. When we expressed our stance against the genocide committed by the Zionists against the people of Gaza and Palestine, the titles of rights and freedoms were absent, and they began to close internet sites and social media pages."

He emphasized the importance of everyone understanding this issue well. He pointed out that the West and the US manipulate humanity with deceptive titles, glossing over their criminal history under the guise of defending rights and freedoms. They also tarnish the reputation of prophets and holy books under these titles.

In mid-January, Washington re-designated Ansarullah as a “terrorist” group amid frustration with anti-Israel naval operations by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea.

The designation, which took effect in 30 days, requires American financial institutions to freeze Ansarullah funds and bars members of the resistance group from traveling to the US.

It followed several rounds of illegal strikes by the United States and its allies on Yemen in violation of the country’s sovereignty and international law.

Israel waged a bloody war on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7 following a historic operation by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group against the occupying entity.

The US has offered untrammeled support for Israel during the onslaught that has so far killed over 29,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

In solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, the Yemeni Armed Forces have targeted ships in the Red Sea with owners linked to Israel or those going to and from ports in the occupied territories.

In response, the US has formed a military coalition against Yemeni forces in the Red Sea and endangered maritime navigation in the strategic waterway.
