News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministry of Human Rights strongly condemned the relentless onslaught perpetrated by the Zionist aggressors against the Gaza Strip, marking 200 days of heinous atrocities, genocide, and systemic oppression against its inhabitants.

In a scathing rebuke issued on Tuesday, the Ministry decried the apathy of the international community in the face of this prolonged campaign of violence, which has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis characterized by ethnic cleansing, starvation, displacement, and a staggering death toll.

The statement underscored the staggering human cost of the conflict, with nearly 200,000 casualties, including martyrs, wounded, and missing individuals, the majority of whom are innocent children and women. Moreover, it highlighted the plight of over a million displaced individuals, along with the dire conditions faced by vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and cancer patients due to the lack of essential healthcare services.

During the 200-day period, the Zionist regime unleashed a barrage of over 75,000 tons of explosives, causing widespread destruction of homes and vital infrastructure, rendering Gaza virtually uninhabitable. The Ministry lamented the alarming civilian death toll, which averaged 212 fatalities per day, including a significant number of children and women, underscoring the egregious nature of these atrocities.

The statement denounced the deliberate escalation of Zionist raids and the intensification of its massacres and crimes during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, as a blatant provocation to the sentiments of the Islamic nation.

The statement condemned the Zionist entity's deliberate targeting of hospitals and medical personnel, as well as its indiscriminate attacks on international organizations operating in the region. It also denounced the complicity of certain Western countries, notably the United States, in perpetuating the cycle of violence through arms deals and political support, obstructing efforts towards a meaningful ceasefire.

Moreover, the Ministry criticized the role played by some Arab regimes in enabling the Zionist aggression and called for greater solidarity with the Palestinian cause from the international community. It urged global activists to pressure Western powers to end their support for the occupiers and stand in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.

Israel waged its brutal US-backed war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has been carrying out war crimes in Gaza by deliberately starving people and forcing their evacuation, as well as targeting hospitals and schools sheltering displaced Palestinians. 

Despite all these atrocities, the regime has failed to achieve its declared objectives of “destroying Hamas” and finding Israeli captives held in Gaza.
