Yemeni Agriculture Ministry Accuses US Intelligence of Sabotaging Yemen's Agricultural Sector

News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation convened a press conference on Tuesday to address the severe repercussions and losses suffered by Yemen's agricultural sector due to sabotage activities orchestrated by the American intelligence network through targeted operations in recent years.

Radwan Al-Rubai, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Vice Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, delivered a statement confirming that the deliberate targeting of Yemen's agricultural sector has profoundly impacted policies, strategies, programs, and projects developed over decades. This malicious targeting has resulted in decreased production, increased costs, losses, and wastage, diminishing economic returns for local products. Furthermore, it has disrupted the trade balance between imports, exports, and capital flows.

Al-Rubai emphasized that these espionage activities have exacerbated wealth inequality, concentrating economic benefits among a select few regime-affiliated individuals and their associates. He highlighted external efforts enabling regime insiders to dominate major import and distribution companies, amass wealth, and secure loyalties.

The conference, attended by Dhaif Allah Shamlan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture for Agricultural Services, and Samir Al-Hanani, Agricultural Production Development Engineer, underscored the systematic targeting of Yemen's local agricultural production throughout various stages of production and marketing by American forces. Al-Rubai lamented the absence of protective economic programs to shield the national economy from such destructive practices.

He concluded by noting the decline in the agricultural sector's contribution to Yemen's GDP, economic growth rates, and the workforce employed in agriculture due to these targeted measures by the American intelligence network.

The Ministry of Agriculture squarely attributed the hardships and losses suffered by Yemeni farmers to the actions of the US administration and its intelligence agencies. Plans were discussed to explore legal action in international courts to seek compensation for damages caused by these targeted operations.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to preventing further infiltration and vowed to purge the agricultural sector of foreign agents and spies. It called upon the media, activists, and the Yemeni populace to support the leadership and relevant authorities in thwarting hostile schemes.

Additionally, the Ministry expressed gratitude to security agencies and the Security and Intelligence Service for their significant efforts and achievements in uncovering the American-Israeli spy network and exposing their plans.

Recently, Yemeni Security Forces announced they dismantled a significant espionage network working for the United States and Israel, involved in espionage and sabotage activities across various state institutions for decades.

According to a statement from the Security Forces, the network was directly linked to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and obtained susceptible information about various aspects of life in Yemen, including military, security, economic, agricultural, health, and educational fields.
