Many focused on the threats and warnings to the Saudi regime in Sayyed's speech, highlighting Yemen's shift towards reciprocal actions "airport for airport, bank for bank, port for ports". They emphasized in their analyses that Yemen-Saudi relations could reach a dangerous turning point with broader repercussions for the region.
In this regard, Sudanese writer and political analyst Abdelwahab Hafkuf urged the Saudi regime to carefully reconsider its strategy towards Yemen, warning that resorting to violence would only lead to further suffering for both countries. He affirmed that renewed Saudi aggression against Yemen would escalate regional instability, damage Saudi Arabia's reputation, and affect its investment climate.
Hafkuf stressed that the Yemeni Armed Forces and Ansarullah are a force to be reckoned with, advising Saudi Arabia: "As an analyst who wishes well for the Kingdom, I urge you not to engage in conflict with Yemen. Take the warnings of Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi seriously; they have become a formidable force capable of thwarting any economic conspiracy against their country."
He further emphasized that ignoring or marginalizing Ansarullah at this stage is no longer feasible for Saudi Arabia, suggesting that genuine peace entails Saudi Arabia initiating peace efforts with Yemen, paying necessary reparations for its nine-year aggression, respecting Yemen's sovereignty, and refraining from interference.
Hafkuf continued, stating: "If Saudi Arabia does not seriously negotiate with Ansarullah, it will be drawn into the next conflict. Yemenis possess destructive weapons, and their threats will severely impact the Saudi economy. Saudi Arabia is not immune, and Yemenis have the means to cause harm."
The writer noted that the Yemeni Armed Forces possess a stockpile of ballistic missiles capable of reaching deep into Saudi territory, targeting military bases, disrupting operations, and weakening defensive capabilities. He also mentioned that advanced Yemeni drones have reached the American aircraft carrier Eisenhower, underscoring their potential to reach Saudi Arabia and target prominent figures in the kingdom.
Hafkuf concluded that Yemeni retaliation would be substantial, potentially disabling oil production and exports, dealing a significant blow to the Saudi economy. He cautioned against heeding voices within Saudi Arabia that dismiss these threats, asserting that real power on the ground is wielded by Ansarullah and the Yemeni Armed Forces, not by mercenaries of negligible value.
According to initial indications, the Saudi regime prefers ambiguity and continuing folly. Sana'a has not seen any serious signs of genuine peace efforts that could avert conflict. Yemenis, who have experienced years of events, understand that such speeches are not mere media rhetoric or psychological warfare but rather realistic and serious statements. They expect action to follow words, especially if the Saudi regime remains unwilling to pursue peace with Yemen.
