Yemeni Authorities Respond Swiftly to Israeli Airstrikes on Hodeidah: Power Gradually Restored, Ports Fully Operational

News - Yemen: Minister of Electricity Mohammed al-Bukhaiti told Al-Masirah TV that since the Israeli enemy's airstrikes on the Ras Keteeb power station, the task force has been working to contain the fires in the diesel tanks away from the station's equipment.

The Minister of Electricity added to Al-Masirah that within less than 24 hours, the fires in the diesel tanks at the Ras Keteeb station were extinguished. Specialized technical teams are working around the clock to rehabilitate the station.

He confirmed to Al-Masirah that the electrical current has gradually and increasingly returned to Hodeidah province thanks to the efforts of engineers and work teams. The power supply is currently operating through the Bajil and Al-Hali power stations, and the Ras Keteeb station will be back in service in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Governor of Hodeidah Major General Mohammed Ayyash Quhaim told Al-Masirah that all are working together with state leadership, which has established an operations room in the province to address the damages and rehabilitate the bombed areas. He noted that the people of Tihamah are honored to be at the forefront in confronting the Israeli enemy and supporting the Palestinian people.

The Governor of Hodeidah also emphasized to Al-Masirah that these showy airstrikes will not deter them from continuing to support the Palestinian resistance and aiding the Palestinian people.

In the same regard, Deputy Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Engineer Nasser al-Nassiri confirmed that Hodeidah Port is operating at full capacity, receiving all ships around the clock. There is no concern about the supply chains and the provision of food, medicine, and petroleum products.

For his part, engineer Adnan al-Jarmouzi, General Manager of the Petroleum Company in Hodeidah, told Al-Masirah that they are continuing to supply stations with their fuel needs normally, and there is no need for concern. The task force is working around the clock to repair the damages after controlling most of the fires.

The Petroleum Company has mourned six of its employees who were martyred while performing their national duty as a result of the brutal Zionist aggression on the oil storage facilities in Hodeidah City.

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes targeted civilian buildings, oil facilities, and a power station in the Yemeni province of Hodeidah, killing six citizens and injuring 87 others.

Brushing off official accounts that the airstrikes had targeted civilian structures, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari alleged that the regime’s aircraft had struck “military targets” in Hodeidah.

He also said the strikes had come in response to the attacks that the Yemeni Armed Forces had been carrying out against the occupied Palestinian territories over the past months.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have been targeting the territories as well as Israeli ships and vessels affiliated with the occupying regime since October 7, when Tel Aviv began a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip. They have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the regime sustains the war and a simultaneous siege that it has been enforcing against the Palestinian territory.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sare'e announced after the airstrikes that the response to Israeli aggression would include "vital targets of the Israeli enemy," reiterating their previous statement that Yafa (Jaffa) is considered an unsafe area.
