September 14: A Day of Brutal Airstrikes and War Crimes Against Yemeni Civilians

Yemen: On September 14, during the years 2015, 2016, and 2018, the US-Saudi aggression airstrikes continued to commit war crimes against unarmed civilians, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries, destruction of homes and properties, and turning the lives of thousands into misery through numerous air raids on the governorates of Saada, Sanaa, Hodeidah, and Hajjah.

On this day, September 14, 2015, it targeted citizens' homes in various areas of Saada with a series of brutal airstrikes, resulting in two horrific massacres. Nineteen civilians were killed, and seven others were injured, including children and women. Many homes were destroyed, dozens of families were displaced, and their suffering was multiplied.

On September 14, 2015, US-Saudi warplanes also struck the agricultural complex in the Walan area of Bani Al-Harith district and a hanger near residential areas in the Al-Nahda neighborhood in Al-Thawra district, Sanaa, with several airstrikes. These strikes resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and the injury of 9 others, including children and women. Homes and properties were damaged, causing widespread fear, panic, and displacement among the population.

On September 14, 2016, it targeted a citizen's house in the village of Al-Baladha in Haradh district, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and the injury of eight others, most of whom were women and children. The house was destroyed, turning it into a mass grave for an entire family in a heartbreaking scene.

In another crime on September 14, 2018, aggression’s warplanes bombed a small grocery store in the remote village of Al-Mak'oub in Ka'idna district. The strike injured two civilians and damaged nearby homes and properties, spreading fear among women and children and exacerbating their already dire situation.

On the same day, three horrific war crimes were committed in Hodeidah. In Al-Hali district, the coalition targeted citizens' trucks and cars in the Kilo 16 area, killing 11 civilians and injuring six others. The attack destroyed properties, terrified travelers, and left families in agony, further worsening their suffering.

In Al-Zahra district, the coalition launched over ten brutal airstrikes on citizens' homes and properties in the village of Deir Amqamos. One civilian was killed, and three others were injured, with dozens of families being displaced from their modest homes and tents. This war crime devastated the lives of local residents, destroying homes and properties accumulated over their lifetimes. Children were left homeless, and elders lost their livelihoods, marking a crime against humanity with immeasurable suffering.

In a third crime, the coalition targeted fishermen’s boats near Sawaba Island in Al-Tuhayat district with several brutal airstrikes. Two citizens were killed, one was injured, and another went missingز The attack caused significant damage to boats and properties, leaving fishermen's families in fear and without a source of income, further deepening their hardship—an outright war crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

On September 14, 2018, coalition warplanes launched an intense missile and artillery bombardment on heavily populated areas, directly targeting unarmed civilians, especially women and children in Saadah. Safe homes were reduced to rubble, and the cries of children became a mournful melody, tearing at hearts. Four houses were destroyed entirely in the violent attack, turning the lives of their occupants into a nightmare.

On September 14, 2020, coalition airstrikes hit the General Directorate of Cleanliness, destroying and burning ten trucks and six garbage transport vehicles in Sana’a.
