Starlink An American-Zionist Project for Spying on Yemen

News - Yemen: A Western newspaper revealed a US-British-Israeli plan to infiltrate Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, and other free provinces in collaboration with the Saudi-backed government, following previous failures to achieve this through ground operations due to the vigilance of Yemeni security forces.

The Cradle reported that Starlink’s recent announcement of satellite communication services in Yemen indicates an effort to regain control after significant US, Israeli, and British losses in the Red Sea, linked to Yemen’s support for Palestine. The launch of Starlink services in Yemen, beginning September 18, coincided with secret agreements made with the Saudi-backed mercenary government in Aden.

This behavior clearly reflects the Saudi-backed government's disregard for Yemen's sovereignty and independence, as well as their willingness to harm the country's security and stability in favor of foreign powers. Therefore, it was not surprising that the decision was welcomed by the Americans.

The timing of the announcement, especially during Israeli attacks in Lebanon using wireless devices, raised concerns in Sana’a about Starlink’s potential threat to Yemen’s national security. The government in Sana’a warned that this move aligns with the US-led war against Yemen, compromising Yemen's sovereignty and security for foreign interests.

According to The Cradle, the US and UK faced an intelligence shortage in their Red Sea campaign, prompting the need for Starlink to fill this gap.

It added that Starlink is designed to provide high-speed internet access, especially in areas under Sana'a's control, by deploying a network of thousands of satellites. Therefore, the announcement that Yemen would be the first country in West Asia to have full access to its services surprised many.

In this regard, a report by Reuters revealed that SpaceX, which operates Starlink, has secret contracts with the US Department of Defense to develop real-time reconnaissance capabilities, linked to recent Yemeni maritime operations.

The report indicated that another concerning aspect is Israel's involvement, as Israeli reconnaissance satellites, Ofek-13 and Ofek-14, are reportedly linked to the Starlink satellite network. SpaceX, as a third party, could provide critical guidance and intelligence for these satellites, thereby enhancing monitoring capabilities in Tel Aviv within the region.

This connection between Starlink and Israeli intelligence efforts has heightened fears in Yemen about the use of the satellite network to undermine the country's security and sovereignty.

It noted that Starlink services are currently primarily available in the occupied Yemeni provinces controlled by the Saudi and Emirati-led coalition forces. This has raised concerns about data security, privacy, and the spread of misinformation, as unrestricted satellite internet exceeds the control of the local government.

Among the most pressing issues is the possibility of sensitive security information being leaked to foreign intelligence agencies, which could jeopardize national defense and security efforts in Yemen. Additionally, there is an imminent threat to individual privacy, as the network may be used to eavesdrop on personal communications without any form of local oversight, potentially leading to widespread breaches of private data.

Moreover, cybersecurity risks are a particular concern, as the network could be exploited for dangerous purposes, including facilitating terrorist activities such as bombings. The existence of a global satellite internet service that bypasses local regulations raises worries about its potential to disrupt the local internet infrastructure.
