October 6 Over 9 Years: Over 40 Casualties in US-Saudi Raids on Yemen

Yemen: On October 6, in the years from 2015 to 2020, the US-Saudi aggression continued to commit war crimes and genocide, killing children, women, and civilians in their homes through treacherous airstrikes on the provinces of Sa'adah, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, and Hodeidah. These attacks resulted in more than 20 martyrs, 20 wounded, the destruction of dozens of homes, and the displacement of families, exacerbating their suffering amidst a complete siege, lack of basic services, worsening living conditions, and an international and UN silence regarding the flagrant violations of international and humanitarian laws in Yemen.

Here are the most prominent details of the crimes committed against the Yemeni people on this day:

2015: 17 Martyrs and Wounded in 3 Separate War Crimes in Sa'adah:

On October 6, 2015, the US-Saudi aggression targeted civilians' homes and the Sharawi Bridge with numerous brutal airstrikes across different areas in Saada. The attacks resulted in 10 martyrs and 7 wounded, including children and women. It also caused the destruction of public and private properties, displaced many families, instilled fear among the people, and exacerbated their suffering, as once-safe homes were turned into rubble.

Saqain District: A War Crime Against Six Female Martyrs and Wounded:

In Saqain District, the aggression targeted a citizen's home in Bani Ghorban village, resulting in the martyrdom of three women and wounding three others. Their remains were scattered everywhere, and the home was completely destroyed, leaving an atmosphere of terror and panic among the locals.

Majz District: Genocide of a Mother and Her Four Children:

In Majz District, the aggression targeted another home with several brutal airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of a woman and her four children. The house was destroyed, and their bodies were found under the rubble. Rescue workers attempted to reach the site but faced continuous airstrikes, making it impossible to save them in time.

Baqim District: 7 Martyrs and Wounded in a Deliberate War Crime:

In Baqim, the coalition’s airstrikes also targeted infrastructure, including the Shrawi Bridge, killing three civilians and injuring four others. This was a deliberate attack meant to disrupt civilian life, cutting off food, medicine, and other essentials, and tightening the blockade.

2016: More Casualties from Cluster Bombings and Airstrikes in Sa'adah

On this day in 2016, coalition airstrikes and cluster bombings targeted homes, cars, and roads in Sa'adah, leaving many dead and injured. The strikes severely damaged homes, farmlands, and roads, further isolating civilians and worsening their suffering.

2017: 7 Martyrs and Injured in Sa'adah

On October 6, 2017, coalition airstrikes targeted a civilian vehicle, killing four and injuring three others on the road between Al-Sheikh and Al-Maqna’ in Munabbih district. The same day, coalition airstrikes destroyed another home in Baqim, completely demolishing it and its contents, adding to the trail of destruction in the region.

2017: Two Children Injured in Al-Jawf

In Al-Jawf, coalition airstrikes targeted a home, injuring two children and terrifying nearby residents.

2017: Targeting Medical Center and Car Workshop in Hajjah

In Hajjah, coalition airstrikes destroyed the Ibn Sina medical center and a car repair workshop, depriving thousands of families of medical services.

2019 and 2020: Over 10 Casualties in Airstrikes on Hodeidah

In 2019 and 2020, coalition forces targeted a civilian truck in Al-Salif port and homes in Hodeidah, killing two and injuring others. The strikes deliberately violated the ceasefire agreement, causing mass displacement and further destruction of civilian properties.

The repeated crimes over the past nine years have gone unpunished, encouraging continued violations. The international community must act to hold war criminals accountable and increase humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
