Yemeni Deputy Chief of Staff Discusses Violations and Humanitarian Solutions with UN Hodeidah Mission Chief

News - Yemen:  Major General Ali Al-Mushki, Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of the National Redeployment Team, met Monday with General Michael Perry, the Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), in a crucial meeting held in Hodeidah.

The meeting, attended by key members of the Redeployment Committee, Major General Ali Al-Razami and Major General Mohammad Al-Qadri, was centered around discussing several critical issues related to the redeployment team’s work and the ongoing violations by the aggression forces in Hodeidah and other governorates.

Condemnation of Violations
At the outset of the meeting, Major General Al-Mushki condemned the ongoing American, British, and Israeli attacks on civilian areas and service facilities in Hodeidah and other regions. He denounced these violations as part of a broader pattern of aggression that continues to affect the lives of Yemeni civilians. In particular, he condemned the genocidal actions of Israeli forces in Gaza and Lebanon, highlighting the role of U.S. support in these crimes.

Al-Mushki’s strong remarks also included a sharp criticism of the international and UN silence regarding the escalation of American-British airstrikes on Yemeni provinces. He argued that this silence not only overlooks the suffering of the Yemeni people but also acts as a cover for the aggression coalition’s war crimes, enabling further atrocities against civilians.

Humanitarian Initiatives and Diplomatic Efforts
In a constructive vein, the Deputy Chief of Staff referenced several humanitarian initiatives spearheaded by the leadership of the Yemeni revolution, particularly those led by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi. These initiatives aim to reduce the suffering of civilians in the southern governorates, where the humanitarian situation has worsened due to the ongoing conflict.

Al-Mushki emphasized the importance of the UN mission applying pressure on the other parties to reopen critical humanitarian routes, specifically the Saqim-Al-Mahjar road. This would enable civilians to move freely and receive much-needed aid, offering some relief in a region that has been heavily affected by blockades and military actions.

Calls for Implementation of Stockholm Agreement
The Deputy Chief of Staff also stressed the necessity of adhering to the provisions of the Stockholm Agreement, which includes the rehabilitation of Hodeidah ports and the bolstering of the Executive Center for Mine Action. Al-Mushki emphasized that these steps are vital to ensuring the safe flow of goods and humanitarian assistance while addressing the dangers posed by landmines that continue to threaten civilians across the conflict zones.

This meeting comes at a time of heightened tension in the region, as Yemen continues to grapple with the consequences of the US-Saudi aggression and siege. Al-Mushki’s dialogue with the UN mission represents a renewed effort by the Yemeni leadership to engage the international community in meaningful actions to end the conflict and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

The Yemeni government remains committed to securing a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict and continues to call for international support in addressing the devastating impact of the aggression on its civilian population.
