Dutch Naval Commander Urges Ships Linked to Israel to Take Yemeni Warnings Seriously

News - Yemen: A senior Dutch Navy commander, Paul Bileveld, advised on Saturday that Israeli-affiliated ships or vessels associated with the Zionist entity should heed the Yemeni Armed Forces' warnings.

According to the Dutch NOS website, Bileveld, who previously commanded the Netherlands' largest warship, emphasized, “The latest threat from Yemen to shipping must be taken seriously. The Yemenis possess a formidable arsenal and can attack Israel-linked vessels.”

He noted that Yemeni forces have been sending warning emails to ships and companies associated with Israel. Several Dutch vessels have reportedly received messages from Yemen’s Armed Forces stating, “You are on the blacklist due to your port call at Haifa, and the ship will be prevented from crossing the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean and will be directly targeted.”

The Netherlands withdrew its frigate Tromp from the Red Sea in early May after a month-long mission as part of "Aspides," a European campaign to safeguard Israeli navigation.

The Indian Express confirmed that the Dutch frigate ZR MS Tromp has since moved toward East Asia. Yafan Bosikom, the commander of Tromp, commented, “We spent over a month in the Red Sea, and Yemeni operations span the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, extending into the Indian Ocean.”

Bosikom added that Israel-linked ships navigating the region remain vulnerable, often unable to defend themselves against Yemeni drones and missiles, which are difficult to detect in advance.

As Yemen enters the second year of its "Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad," the Yemeni Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to these operations until assaults on Gaza and Lebanon cease. In a recent address, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi affirmed Yemen’s enduring support for Lebanon and Gaza, disclosing that 196 Israeli-linked vessels, as well as American and British-affiliated ships, have been targeted.

He further revealed that Yemen’s support for Palestine has included over 25 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones deployed in recent operations.
