News - Yemen: American media continue to acknowledge the setbacks faced by the US Navy at the hands of the Yemeni Armed Forces.

The American magazine National Interest reported that the effectiveness of US aircraft carriers has significantly declined after recent targeting by Yemeni forces. In a report titled "The Aircraft Carrier Is Dying a Slow Death," the magazine noted that advanced anti-ship missiles developed by the US' adversaries, including the Yemenis, have greatly reduced the effectiveness of these carriers.

The magazine further highlighted the rising costs of maintaining the US fleet of eleven carriers, which once symbolized America's maritime dominance. The recent retreat of US carriers from the Red Sea underscores the impact of Yemen’s missile capabilities.

In November 2023, Yemeni Armed Forces began targeting Israeli ships, or vessels linked to Israel, in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and as far as the Mediterranean, using missiles and drones. 

Yemeni forces' strikes are in solidarity with Gaza and in response to the ongoing siege and genocide since October 7, 2023, as well as the aggression led by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen.
