News - Yemen: The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on Tuesday that it received a report of an incident involving a vessel 70 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah, Yemen.

According to a statement published by the UKMTO on X, the ship’s captain reported "multiple explosions in the vicinity of the ship." However, there were no reports of damage, and all crew members are safe and unharmed. The ship is currently en route to its next port of call.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have not commented on this incident, but the Yemeni army has been enforcing a naval blockade on Israeli-linked ships passing through the Red Sea in support of Palestinian and Lebanese people, who have been subjected to ongoing violence and massacres by Israeli forces for over a year.

In November 2023, Yemeni Armed Forces began targeting Israeli ships, or vessels linked to Israel, in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and as far as the Mediterranean, using missiles and drones. This action is in solidarity with Gaza and in response to the ongoing siege and genocide since October 7, 2023, as well as the aggression led by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen.
