Yemeni Naval Strikes Force Factory Closures and Economic Disruptions in Occupied Haifa

News - Yemen: Zionist media has reported that naval operations conducted by the Yemeni Armed Forces in solidarity with Palestine are significantly impacting industrial activity in the occupied city of Haifa, potentially leading to the closure of major factories.

The Israeli newspaper Globes highlighted that the "Alliance Tires" factory, located in the Hadera area near Haifa, is facing major layoffs and risks closure after 75 years of operation. The paper attributes this to soaring shipping costs and disruptions in exports caused by Yemeni Armed Forces’ strikes on vessels linked to the Israeli regime or owned by companies collaborating with it.

The report explains that the factory may shut down in the near future, as it struggles to maintain operations. Many other long-established factories are also experiencing disruptions due to a sharp imbalance in imports and exports. This crisis has been exacerbated by Yemen’s efforts to restrict critical raw materials and curtail exports via maritime routes, which have been brought under the scope of Yemeni naval operations.

The Globes article notes that the "Alliance Tires" factory is one of the largest and most historic industrial facilities in occupied Palestine, having been established 75 years ago. The factory's challenges underscore how deeply Yemeni operations are affecting even long-standing establishments in the occupied territories. This raises concerns about the fate of newer and less resilient factories.

According to Globes, the factory's owners are exploring cheaper production alternatives and methods to reduce shipping costs, as Yemeni naval activities have made shipping significantly more expensive. Export routes are increasingly restricted due to fears of attacks on vessels carrying goods, including tires, within areas targeted by Yemeni operations.

The report further highlights that Yemeni naval operations have disrupted a substantial portion of the Zionist regime’s import-export network, forcing the shutdown of thousands of factories and companies, particularly in technology and electric vehicle sectors. Additionally, the operations have led to the bankruptcy and closure of the port of Eilat, while severely limiting activities at other ports in occupied Palestine.

Since October 2023, following intensified violence in Gaza, Yemeni forces have launched multiple operations in solidarity with Palestinians, targeting areas in occupied Palestinian territories and intercepting ships believed to be headed toward Israeli-controlled ports. The recent operations highlight Yemen’s broader support for Gaza while signaling the potential for further military actions across several regional theaters if their demands are not addressed.
