News - Yemen: The First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, confirmed that the enemies of the homeland deliberately sought to destroy the capabilities of the Yemeni people, particularly the Air Defense, before launching the brutal aggression that targeted all aspects of life intending to subjugate and control the country.

In a speech at an event for the Shura Council, held to commemorate the annual Martyr’s Anniversary, he stated that the loyal sons of the homeland were able to restore and activate part of those defensive capabilities, achieving significant progress, as evidenced by the downing of an American-made reconnaissance aircraft.

Scholar Muftah considered that what was planned for Yemen was thwarted by the blood of the martyrs, the wounded, the prisoners, and those stationed at the frontlines. He also stated that Allah honored Yemen at a time of submission by carrying the banner of confronting American tyranny.

He affirmed that the Yemeni people, just as they were able to break the dominance and arrogance of the US and strike its aircraft carriers and destroyers, are capable, by the grace of Allah, of striking its submarines at the depths of the seas with the same precision.

In recent months, the Yemeni Armed Forces have achieved significant victories against the naval forces of the US, the UK, and Israel. These operations led to the effective shutdown of the Port of Eilat, also known as Um Rashrash, and forced the US aircraft carriers Eisenhower and Roosevelt to retreat from the Red Sea. The Yemeni forces also sank or damaged dozens of Israeli-linked ships.

These achievements have surprised many observers, as Yemen was not previously regarded as a significant naval power. The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their operations as long as the Israeli regime maintains its war and siege against Palestinian territories.
