In a statement, the Shura Council lauded the steadfastness and resilience of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, acknowledging its significant sacrifices in support of the Palestinian cause. It emphasized the victory achieved in safeguarding Lebanon's independence, sovereignty, and the security of its people.
The Council highlighted that Lebanon’s accomplishment, after nearly sixty days of steadfast resistance against the enemy, represents a true victory for the will of the resistance. This reflects a firm commitment to the just cause of confronting Zionist aggression.
The Shura Council reaffirmed its confidence in the Islamic Resistance's ability to reshape the conflict dynamics with the Zionist entity. It paid tribute to the martyrs of the resistance, including its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whose sacrifices exemplify the unwavering dedication to confront the enemy without submission.
The statement reiterated support for Yemen's leadership and people in their ongoing sacred jihad against the Zionist enemy. It affirmed continued solidarity with the Axis of Jihad and Resistance until a decisive victory for the Palestinian people is achieved.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect at 4 a.m. local time in Lebanon (02:00 GMT) amid hopes the truce will bring a permanent end to Israeli attacks on Lebanese towns and cities and halt more than a year of fighting in southern Lebanon and the northern sector of the occupied territories.
Hezbollah opened a support front for Palestinians in Gaza only a day after the Israeli regime unleashed its genocidal war against the besieged territory last October.
More than 3,760 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon, with nearly 15,700 others injured and more than a million displaced since the onset of hostilities on October 8, 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.
In late September, the regime also assassinated Hezbollah's leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a strike in southern Beirut.
