Yemen’s Foreign Ministry Condemns Israeli Aggression on Syria, Calls for International Action

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of recent Israeli actions in Syria, including the occupation of additional territories in the Syrian Golan and military strikes on Syrian sites.

The Ministry described these actions as blatant violations of international agreements and an escalation of aggression in the region.

In a statement, it denounced the Zionist entity’s occupation of further areas in the Golan Heights, labeling it a flagrant breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

It further condemned Israeli airstrikes targeting several locations in Syria, emphasizing the need to uphold Syria's sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity while refraining from interfering in its internal affairs.

“The Israeli occupation and aggression reaffirm that the Zionist entity is the true enemy that threatens the region and the Arab and Islamic nations,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take decisive action against what it termed "blatant aggression" and to rein in Israeli provocations.

It urged the global community not to let recent developments in Syria overshadow the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where it accused the Israeli regime of committing genocidal crimes.

Yemen reaffirmed its solidarity with Syria, emphasizing its right to respond to the attacks. “The Republic of Yemen stands with the Syrian Arab Republic and supports its legitimate right to counter the heinous Zionist aggression,” the statement concluded.

This declaration comes amid rising tensions in the region and growing calls for respecting the sovereignty and unity of Arab nations against the Israeli aggression.

Israeli forces have captured two towns in the southwestern Syrian province of Quneitra near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and are moving towards the neighboring Dara’a province, after militant groups took control of the Arab country.

According to Israeli media outlets, the incursion was launched following heavy shelling of surrounding areas.

Israeli army soldiers are now heading towards areas in Dara’a, located about 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of the capital Damascus.

Earlier, Israeli soldiers had taken over a Syrian army outpost at the summit of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights.

The Syrian army reportedly left the post amid the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government.

Armed groups, led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants, announced on Sunday that they had fully captured the Syrian capital and confirmed reports of the fall of the Assad government.
