Economic Crises Deepen in Occupied Palestine, Straining Settlers and the Israeli Entity

Middle East: Day by day, the economic crises in the Zionist regime are having increasing impacts on the settlers in occupied Palestine and on the Israeli entity as a whole.

With a series of ongoing collapses in financial capabilities, investments, industrial and agricultural production, as well as failures in security and military deterrence, new challenges have emerged.

These challenges heavily affect the residents of occupied Palestinian cities, who are losing stability, care, and security. The situation has escalated to include severe living and economic hardships, with settlers bearing the brunt of the Zionist regime’s aggression.

Rising prices, supply shortages, and the disappearance of goods from markets compound their struggles, alongside deteriorating services and heightened fear due to escalating security threats.

Israeli media recently highlighted a worsening food market crisis, with an absence of effective "government" oversight on food supplies. According to reports from the so-called "Ministry of Economy," food prices have continued to rise despite global inflationary trends. The Israeli government, however, has attributed this to companies seeking increased profits, avoiding acknowledgment of deeper systemic issues.

The Ministry of Economy’s report revealed that even as global raw material prices decline, food prices in occupied cities continue to rise, signaling the depth of economic instability. Media reports also indicated that major food producers, importers, and retail chains have increased prices disproportionately, further burdening consumers despite global market trends showing reduced costs.

The Zionist newspaper The Marker noted that a government review of 170 food products found price hikes in 40% of items by at least 5%, while 25% saw increases ranging from 10% to 25%. This reflects a lack of market regulation under Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government, which remains preoccupied with military measures and aggressive policies.

The newspaper projected that in 2025, occupied Palestinian cities would face a new wave of price hikes accompanied by increased taxes. Higher taxes will lead to elevated production, distribution, and marketing costs, exacerbating living expenses for settlers.

The rising costs are not limited to food. The so-called "Electricity Authority" announced a 3.8% increase in electricity rates, with an additional 1% value-added tax hike. Similarly, the "Water Authority" announced a 3.4% increase in water prices. These announcements, following prior increases in health insurance and social security fees, are expected to further strain settlers’ finances.

Meanwhile, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz highlighted inflation-driven profit surges for banks, food companies, and retail businesses. However, these gains have not eased the burden on settlers, who continue to face mounting living costs amid market disruptions.

These challenges are compounded by escalating tensions in the region. While current projections assume relative calm along the northern front with Lebanon, any renewed conflict or increased resistance operations could further destabilize the Zionist regime and amplify its internal crises.

Observers predict that worsening economic conditions will drive significant reverse migration among settlers, posing a direct challenge to Netanyahu’s government and weakening the Zionist entity’s grip on Palestine.

This economic turmoil is attributed to the blows sustained by the Zionist regime, including a tightening naval blockade by Yemeni armed forces, significant disruptions to imports and exports, and losses in vital areas like Haifa and Eilat due to drone and missile attacks originating from Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon. These factors collectively indicate a growing crisis that threatens the future stability of the Zionist project in occupied Palestine.
