The attacks resulted in 17 deaths and 10 injuries, most of them children, women, patients, teachers, and medical staff. The strikes caused extensive destruction to properties, deprived thousands of students and patients of their right to education and healthcare, terrorized civilians, and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, leaving haunting scenes of suffering.
2017: 6 Martyred in Airstrikes on Sa'adah
On this day in 2017, the US-Saudi aggression added another war crime to its record, targeting Kitaf Educational Complex and an ambulance in Kitaf District, Sa'adah.
The airstrikes killed six people, including teachers, students, and rescuers, destroyed the complex and the ambulance, and deprived thousands of students of their right to education.
Prior to the strikes, the complex was alive with educational activities, buzzing with students reciting lessons and engaging in academic pursuits. In an instant, the aggression reduced it to rubble, leaving behind scenes of destruction, smoke, and scattered bodies.
When rescuers arrived to save the injured, the coalition targeted them with another strike, turning the ambulance and its occupants into charred fragments. This act epitomized deliberate war crimes and inhumane atrocities.
2017: 21 Casualties in Airstrikes on Hodeidah
The coalition’s strikes on Hays Rural Hospital and Al-Mirbaa Market in Hodeidah caused 11 deaths and 10 injuries, including children, pregnant women, and patients.
The airstrikes turned the hospital, a beacon of hope for the sick and injured, into ruins filled with lifeless bodies of doctors, nurses, and patients. The destruction extended to the morgue and medical equipment, depriving the region of healthcare and compounding the suffering.
Simultaneously, Al-Mirbaa Market, bustling with activity, was struck while citizens were shopping for essential goods. The strikes killed shoppers and vendors, destroyed shops and goods, and instilled terror among residents, worsening the humanitarian crisis.
The US-Saudi aggression continues to target civilians and civilian infrastructure, committing war crimes and genocide over nine years. Despite these atrocities, there has been no concrete international action to halt the aggression, lift the siege, hold war criminals accountable, or deliver justice to the victims.
