News - Middle East: Dr. Khalil Al-Daqran, spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, described the dire humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip due to continuous Israeli bombardment and a crippling blockade.

He accused Israeli forces of deliberately destroying medicines, medical supplies, and oxygen stations, exacerbating the suffering of wounded patients and those in need of urgent medical care.

“The enemy has destroyed the healthcare system and targeted vital supplies to kill patients and the injured,” Al-Daqran stated.

The humanitarian toll is increasingly visible in the streets of northern Gaza, where Dr. Al-Daqran reported that bodies of martyrs are left unattended, being torn apart by stray dogs due to the relentless bombardment and the blockade preventing proper rescue and burial efforts.

Children are among the most vulnerable. “Children in the north of Gaza cannot find milk, and many of them suffer from severe skin diseases caused by the Israeli blockade,” Al-Daqran said, adding that malnutrition has spread dramatically as Israel prevents the entry of essential food supplies into the Strip.

Highlighting the scale of displacement, Dr. Al-Daqran emphasized the urgent need for at least 200,000 tents to shelter families forced to flee their homes. He warned that the bitter winter cold is further exacerbating the suffering of the displaced populations.

“The Israeli enemy is depriving Gaza’s residents of food, medicine, and infant milk,” Al-Daqran said, underscoring the catastrophic impact of the blockade on the population’s basic survival needs.

The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with medical institutions in collapse, food and medicine supplies dwindling, and thousands of displaced residents struggling to survive amid dire conditions. Humanitarian organizations have repeatedly called for immediate intervention to address the growing crisis.

Israel unleashed its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out a historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 45,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 107,000 others. 

Israel has targeted hospitals in its bloody onslaught, damaging or destroying Gaza’s most important healthcare centers in blatant violation of international law and considered to be a war crime.
