News - Middle East: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued an urgent plea to the international community for aid, including medicine and food, to support Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

According to the ministry, the hospital in Beit Lahia is under continuous gunfire, with shells striking the third floor and entrances, causing panic among patients and medical staff.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital director, confirmed that the Israeli occupation army targeted the hospital’s third floor with artillery, though no casualties were reported.

Dr. Abu Safiya stated that the hospital is under constant threat, with its walls riddled with bullet holes and shell damage, resembling a military target.

He added that the hospital has yet to receive crucial supplies needed for maintaining electricity, water, and oxygen systems, despite prior promises. He urgently appealed for assistance to save the injured.

The hospital director highlighted that the World Health Organization (WHO) had sent only 70 units of blood, far short of the hospital's need for 200 units.

Dr. Abu Safiya also underscored severe shortages in medical supplies, medicines, and food. "We cannot provide meals for the wounded," he said. "We appeal to the world for urgent intervention to allow food deliveries so that we can provide at least one meal a day for the injured and the medical staff working tirelessly."

The ongoing Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip, now in its 442th consecutive day, has brought the death toll to 45,227 martyrs and the number of wounded to 107,573, with injuries ranging in severity, since October 7, 2023.

Israel unleashed its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out a historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has targeted hospitals in its bloody onslaught, damaging or destroying Gaza’s most important healthcare centers in blatant violation of international law and considered to be a war crime.
