Absent Prayer Held for Mohammed Deif and Comrades Across Sana'a and Other Provinces

News - Yemen: Absent funeral prayers were held for the martyr Mohammed Deif and his comrades in mosques across the capital, Sana’a, and other provinces following Friday prayers.

Almasirah correspondent in Sana’a reported that hundreds of mass rallies took place in the capital after Friday prayers, reaffirming unwavering support and solidarity with Gaza and all of Palestine.

Statements issued during the Friday gatherings in Sana’a expressed condolences to the Palestinian people and the fighters of Al-Qassam Brigades over the martyrdom of Mohammed Deif and his fellow commanders.

The rallies also condemned former U.S. President Donald Trump's proposals regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land, affirming their full right to liberate all of Palestine.

Participants denounced the ongoing Israeli violations in Lebanon and its crimes in the West Bank, emphasizing their continued state of general mobilization as part of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" courses and their readiness to implement the directives of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.

Media outlets had reported Deif’s death, but the announcement Thursday is the first official acknowledgment from Hamas of the senior leader’s demise.

Israel initially announced in August 2024 that Deif had been killed in a July airstrike, but his death had not been confirmed since.

Abu Obeida said the announcement came only after completing necessary procedures, addressing security concerns dictated by battlefield conditions and verifying details.

He noted that the group had previously announced the deaths of Ghandour and Nofal during Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Deif's deputy, Issa, was instrumental in Hamas's military strategies. Tama’a, responsible for overseeing the organization's weapons in Gaza, previously served as the head of the Central Camps Brigade of Hamas.

Thabet was considered among the top ten most senior Hamas military commanders, while Salama was known for his close association with Deif and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar who was killed in combat in Gaza in October.
