Feb. 3 Over 9 Years: 87 Casualties in US-Saudi War Crimes Targeting Homes, Factories, and Bridges in Yemen

Yemen: On February 3, 2016, and 2017, the US-Saudi aggression deliberately committed war crimes and acts of genocide through its brutal airstrikes on the Amran Cement Factory, homes, shops, roads, and bridges in the governorates of Amran, Sa'adah, and Sana'a.

These attacks resulted in 25 martyrs and 63 wounded, including women and children, as well as the displacement of dozens of families, economic devastation, and severe restrictions on movement, healthcare, and humanitarian aid. The aggression aimed to destroy Yemen’s infrastructure and livelihood, inflicting long-term suffering on its people.

Here are the key details of the atrocities:

2016: 77 Martyrs and Wounded in Airstrikes on Amran Cement Factory and Nearby Homes

The US-Saudi coalition added another war crime to its list, targeting Amran Cement Factory and neighboring homes with direct airstrikes. The attack resulted in 16 martyrs and 61 wounded, including 17 children, and caused severe damage to the factory, displacing thousands of families and paralyzing the local economy.

2016: 9 Martyrs from Abu Alahan Family in a Targeted Airstrike on Their Car in Nihm, Sana'a

In an act of mass extermination, the aggression bombed a vehicle carrying the Abu Alahan family in Nihm, Sana'a, killing nine civilians, including women and children. Local residents rushed to the scene, only to find a massacre. The attack triggered mass mobilization among Yemeni tribes, who vowed to resist the aggression.

2016: Aggression Destroys 10 Bridges and Homes in Sa'adah

The Saudi coalition targeted key road networks and bridges in Sa'adah, severing vital transportation routes, blocking humanitarian aid, and causing severe disruptions to daily life. Farmers suffered massive losses as they were unable to transport their produce to markets, with perishable goods rotting in trucks and fields.

2017: School and Home Targeted in Razeh, Sa'adah

The aggression continued its war crimes by bombing a school and a home in Razeh, Sa'adah, depriving hundreds of children of their right to education and forcing families to flee for their lives.

The relentless targeting of civilian infrastructure, homes, and livelihoods constitutes clear war crimes that demand urgent international accountability and justice.
